Spring, 2013

"Caesar" was the first song The Outfit wrote after I joined the band in 2010. Casey Banker was still with the band when we wrote it, but Mikael Kilates was the one who played on the recording on the "Tough Kids" EP. I worked on the 8-bit version as we were recording, even adding some gameboy to the album version of the track because I liked it so much. We released "Caesar" as an advance single on the Ides of March in 2013, coincidentally while we were at SXSW performing at a bar called Shakespeare's. We did a run of 100 cassettes with the 8-bit version as the b-side, a few of which are still available through The Outfit's bandcamp page: choosetheoutfit.bandcamp.com.
